９５年のクラシック"Alphawave"と、彼らの作品の中でセールス的，評価的ともに最も成功した"Power Of 7"と"System Express"のアルバム３枚の再発を引っ提げ、System 7（システム・セブン）は自らのレーベル"A-WAVE"を立ち上げた。　System 7 … 70年代の伝説的バンド，Gong（ゴング）出身のSteve Hillage（スティーヴ・ヒレッジ）とMiquette Giraudy（ミケット・ギラウディ）は、2001年９月ニューアルバム"Seventh Wave"を世に送り出す。

"Seventh Wave"は、テクノ，プログレッシヴハウス，エレクトロニカ，みずみずしくチルアウトしたムーディーなグルーヴと、エスニックやプログレッシヴロックの影響を合わせ持ったトランスとがブレンドされた楽曲で構成されている。

'Manik Shamanik'は、そのムーディーなシンセ・ライン，エレクトロニックで浮遊感のあるサウンド，透き通るようなギター・リフでアルバムの幕開けを飾る。

ビートが脈打ち、ディープでムーディーなトライバルフィーリング溢れるベースラインがうねる'High Plains Drifter'は、"Seventh Wave"からのファーストシングルとしてリリース。BedrockとDanny Tenagliaの書き下ろし曲である。Voyager & Purpleのミックスは要チェック！

'7 'O Clock'は、ムーディーでアンビエントな感じで始まり、インド的エスニックな影響を強く反映したヒプノティックなパーカッションのグルーヴへとビルドアップされる。

'Soft Rain'は、System 7とThe OrbのAlex Pattersonとのコラボレーションである。ダウンビートなブレイクビーツスタイルの'Soft Rain'は、エレクトロニックなエモーションたっぷりの傑作であり、バレアレス諸島の楽園イビザの曲'Sal Del Mar'の繊細なパーカッションとピアノ・コードへと移行していく。

このアルバムの収録曲中最も異彩を放つ'Varkala'は、アシッド・テクノとカテゴライズすることができるような、プログレッシヴでトランスシーな要素を持っている。

'The Abyss'は、みずみずしくムーディーなストリングスとピアノ・メロディーとの壮大なダウンビートの旅である。次に続く'Chiringuito'はレイドバックしたイビサ・グルーヴであり、この素晴しいアルバムを締めくくる。

System 7についてはもう説明の必要はないであろうが、ダンスシーンの不動の重鎮として認識されており、この１０年以上に渡って６枚のジャンルを超えたアルバムと大絶賛されたリミックスアルバム１枚をリリースしている。

System 7は、Steve Hillageと彼の長年のパートナー，Miquette Giraudyである。Steveは、スペースロックバンドの走り，Gongのキーメンバーとしてよく知られており、70年代にリリースした折衷主義で先駆的な数枚のアルバムによって伝説的な存在である。彼はSteve Hillage Band（キーボードはMiquette）と共に70年代を通して成功を博し、そのソロ・アルバムは多くのベスト・セールスを記録した。

Fankadelic，Kraftwerk，その他ドイツの実験的なバンドや80年代にデトロイトとシカゴから浮上したテクノ・アンダーグラウンドからの多大な影響を受け、1989年にSystem 7は結成され、その独自のユニークなサウンドの襲撃が始まった。

昨年2000年の間は、System 7は自身のWest London Studioでレコーディングを続け、合間に日本，メキシコ，オーストラリア，イギリス（グラストンベリー 2000での絶賛されたパフォーマンスを含む）でライブを行った。最も重要な出来事は、自身のレーベル，A-WAVEを立ち上げたことだろう。長年の念願が叶ったのだ。そして、今年７月２８日にはWomadフェスティバルに出演しており、８月１８日には幕張メッセで行われるSummer Sonic 2001の夜の部，Soniamania出演が決定している。

彼等のディープで突っ走った新しいサウンドが、待望のニュー・アルバム"Seventh Wave"のリリースで今年９月には明らかになる。Voyager & Purpleのリミックスをフィーチャーした'High Plains Drifter'が先行シングル（輸入盤・9/8発売）としてリリースされる。

After kicking off their new label A-Wave with the acclaimed re-release of their 95 classic "Alphawave" and the re-release of their two best selling and critically acclaimed albums "Power of 7" and "System Express", System 7 (Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy - previously of legendary 70's outfit Gong) are launching their brand new "Seventh Wave" album at the end of September.

"Seventh Wave" is an eclectic selection of tracks that blends techno, progressive house, electronica and trance with lush chilled out atmospheric grooves, ethnic influences as well as progressive rock.

'Manik Shamanik' kicks things off with its atmospheric synth lines, electronic wobbly sounds and ethereal guitar riffs.

'High Plains Drifter' is the first single off "Seventh Wave" ﾐ throbbing beats and bassline with a deep & moody tribal feel to it, 'High Plains Drifter' has Bedrock and Danny Tenaglia written all over it. Watch out for the Voyager and Purple Mixes!

'7'O Clock' starts off atmospheric and ambient and it slowly builds up into a hypnotic percussive groove with a strong Eastern Ethnic influence to it.

'Soft Rain' is a collaboration between System 7 and The Orb's Alex Patterson. On a downbeat breakbeat style 'Soft Rain' is a gem of a tune full of electronic emotion followed up by the balearic bliss of 'Sal Del Mar' with its subtle percussion and piano chords.

On a completely different tip 'Varkala' lifts things right up with what can be described as acid techno with progressive and trancy elements.

'The Abyss' is a sublime downbeat journey of lush atmospheric strings and piano melodies and lastly 'Chiringuito' is another amazing laidback balearic groove to finish off a great album.

System 7, need no introduction, having garnered a reputation as one of the dance scene's true stalwarts, releasing six groundbreaking albums and an acclaimed album of remixes over the last ten years.

System 7 are Steve Hillage and long time partner Miquette Giraudy. Steve is well known for being a leading member of seminal space rock band Gong, who garnered a legendary reputation for their series of eclectic and pioneering albums in the 70's. He continued his success throughout the 70's with the Steve Hillage Band (Miquette played keyboards) and numerous best-selling solo albums.

Heavily influenced by the techno underground that emerged in the 80's in Detroit and Chicago, along with Funkadelic, Kraftwerk and other German experimental bands System 7 formed in 1989 to bring their own unique sound to the foray.

System 7 were pioneers from the beginning, influencing a whole generation of artists, and their debut album System 7 (Ten/ Virgin) is still regarded and one of the first classic albums to emerge from house music scene. System 7 have always pre-empted dance music's ever evolving genre's and this is reflected in the stellar list of artists they have collaborated with including: Derrick May, Paul Oakenfold, Marshall Jefferson, Carl Craig, The Orb, Youth, Laurent Garnier and Talvin Singh.

Steve & Miquette have gained a position of respect amongst the dance fraternity as masters of their craft, citing their superb production skills (Steve Hillage is a much respected producer in his own right), consistently excellent musical output and their superb live show.

Over the last year System 7 have been recording new material in their West London studio, playing live in Japan, Mexico, Australia and the U.K (including in their awesomely received performance at Glastonbury 2000), at the Womad festival in July this year, and most importantly masterminding the launch of their very own label A-Wave. A life long ambition that has finally come to fruition. Watch out for System 7 as they will be playing live in Japan on the 18th of July at the Summer Sonic festival's nightime event, "Sonicmania" .

Evidence of their deep and driving new sound will be revealed at the end of September when they release their much anticipated new album "Seventh Wave". This will be preceded by the single 'High Plains Drifter' featuring remixes from Voyager & Purple.
